Chester's a beautiful city to move in and a tricky one to move a van around. The historic centre inside the city walls, around Eastgate, Watergate and Bridge Street, has narrow, pedestrianised and one-way streets with real parking headaches, so we plan access carefully and, where needed, sort loading windows in advance rather than getting caught out on the day.
The housing here is a real mix. You've got handsome Victorian and Edwardian terraces in Hoole and Boughton, Georgian townhouses near the river in Handbridge, big period properties out towards Curzon Park, and modern estates in Saughall, Vicars Cross and Upton. Each comes with its own moving challenges: steep stairs and narrow hallways in the older terraces, tight turns in the newer cul-de-sacs, and after over 7 years we've moved in and out of all of them.
Chester's also a big student city thanks to the University of Chester, so we handle plenty of student moves around the Garden Quarter and Boughton, especially each September.
