In the final week, pack a box you can find instantly — kettle, mugs, tea, toilet roll, hand soap, phone charger, a couple of towels. Mark it clearly and tell the crew it goes on last and comes off first.
- Defrost the freezer at least 24 hours ahead so it can drain properly.
- Take meter readings and photograph them.
- Dismantle anything that needs it, or tell your movers so they can bring tools and allow the time.
Anything awkward, oversized or fragile is worth mentioning now, so the right kit and the right number of hands are on the van.
