Moving day prep

Two Weeks Before Moving Day

29 July 2026 · 1 min read

Two weeks out, start on the things you will not miss: books, out-of-season clothes, spare bedding, anything decorative.

Label boxes by room in the new house, not the old one — because that is what tells the crew where to put them.

  • Arrange parking if you are on a restricted or narrow street, at both ends.
  • Put aside paperwork, keys, chargers and anything with sentimental value to travel with you.
  • If children or pets are moving with you, decide now where they will be on the day.

Access is the single biggest thing people underestimate. A long driveway, a narrow lane, a permit bay or a third-floor flat all change how long a move takes — and none of them are a problem if they are known in advance. If you're not sure whether a large van can reach your door, ask us before moving day rather than on it.
