Hoole is rows of Victorian and Edwardian terraces on a tight grid, with the independent shops of Faulkner Street at the centre. The houses are handsome and generally straightforward inside, but they were built for a street with no cars on it, and that is the part we plan around.
Parking is genuinely the deciding factor here. Most streets have permit or resident parking, cars line both sides, and a Luton van needs a proper run at the kerb. We sort the parking question before moving day and will often recommend an early start: by mid-morning the streets are full.
We move a lot of people into and out of Hoole: first homes, families outgrowing a two-bed terrace, and downsizes from the larger properties. It is one of the busiest parts of Chester for us and one where the plan matters more than the muscle.
