Christleton is one of the prettiest villages around Chester and it moves like it: period cottages with low doorways and tight staircases, larger houses on the edges with room to breathe, and a conservation area running through the middle of it.
The lanes are narrow and there is limited hard standing, so where a big van sits is a decision rather than an afterthought. We would rather shuttle from a sensible spot than block a lane for three hours or put wheels on a verge.
There is a strong downsizing and probate element to our work here, as there tends to be in villages with long-established residents. Those jobs get handled slowly and discreetly, with anything the family wants kept set aside first.
