Churton is a small village on the road between Chester and Farndon, with period cottages, farmhouses and converted buildings among newer housing. Older properties here mean narrow doorways, low ceilings and staircases that need doors off rather than force.
Getting there is half the planning. The lanes are narrow with limited passing places, and a fully loaded Luton van meeting farm traffic makes for a slow morning. We check the route in as well as the parking at the other end.
