Hoylake sits at the top corner of the Wirral, and the housing tells you how it grew: big Victorian and Edwardian houses on the roads behind the front, solid family semis further inland, and flats and terraces closer to the town centre. Parking is the thing we plan around here. The seafront roads and the streets near the station are busy and often restricted, and a Luton van needs more kerb than a car. We check the approach in advance so the crew turns up knowing exactly where the van is going, rather than circling while the clock runs.
