Southport has a distinctive housing mix: tall Victorian and Edwardian properties around the centre, many now apartments, and a great deal of bungalow and retirement housing spreading out from it. The two produce very different moving days: stairs and communal entrances in one, single-storey simplicity in the other.
The bungalow moves are usually downsizes, and those take longer in the packing than the loading. Sorting decades of belongings is the real work, so we go at the pace that suits and can store whatever is not ready to be decided on.
Around the centre, the older converted properties mean stairwells, shared doors and parking restrictions to work within. It is the longest regular run we make, so we are clear about timings and include the travel in the quote rather than adding it afterwards.
